Preview: Tottenham vs Liverpool Women in the WSL - 2 November, 2025, team news

After an away defeat to Chelsea followed by an international break, it's back to home WSL action for Tottenham Women. They take on Liverpool on Sunday, 2 November 2025. It's a 12pm kick off at Brisbane Road.

The Reds are, quite frankly, in a bit of a mess, having not won any of their opening five league games of the season. They sit 11th in the table, above West Ham on goal difference alone. Spurs have been revitalised under Martin Ho. It's not always been pretty, but they have won four of their six matches and go into the weekend fourth in the table.

Tottenham's display last time out against Chelsea was certainly more resilient than the pathetic collapse against Man City earlier in the season. That still did not lead to a win against one of the top sides though. They should have the opportunity to be more expressive against struggling opposition this weekend.

Tottenham Double Acts

Much of the success of the Spurs Women's season so far has been based on the steady partnerships Ho has developed. Clare Hunt and Toko Koga at centrback, Drew Spence and Eveliina Summanen in the middle, Beth England and Cathinka Tandberg upfront. Those should all be enough to overpower Liverpool this weekend. Molly Bartrip is likely to be back involved too, which will be another boost. It will be a tough decision as to who she replaces in the backline. Perhaps the Japanese youngster is the one who should have a rest.

The display away at Everton a few weeks ago showed that the hosts can have some creativity, but there is no doubt more of it is required. The devastating injury to Maite Oroz does not help in that respect. Engand might have some more space in which to operate this game. She will probably not have to work back as hard as she did against Chelsea. Jess Naz, fresh from another England call up, should be full of confidence. She was impressive in the last home win against Brighton. This is exactly the kind of game where the attacking players can and must flourish. If that happens it could be a very good Sunday indeed.

Does Dr Tottenham see patients in the WSL too?
