Jess Naz Gets England Call Up, Doesn't Feature

Jess Naz has been called into the latest England squad. She was not one of the initial 24-player group, nor were any of her Tottenham teammates. However, the forward has now been asked to replace Man Utd's Jess Park, who has suffered a delayed concussion. Park reported for duty but continued to show symptoms and so returned to her club.

Naz has previously earned six caps for the Lionesses. Her last appearance was when she came on as a substitute in February's 1-0 victory over Spain. However, a dip in form at the end of last season (not something unique to Naz in that Spurs squad...) saw her fall out over favour with Sarina Wiegman. She has started this season positively though and deserves another chance on the international stage.

The Lionesses face Australia and then Brazil on 25th and 28th October respectively. The games will take place at the Etihad and then Pride Park. A full list of all the Tottenham Hotspur Women 's players involved for their national teams this international break is here.

Jess Naz No Picked to Play for Lionesses

Somewhat disappointingly, Jess Naz did not feature in either game of the last international break. On the bench for both, she did not appear in England's 1-2 defeat to Brazil on Saturday, 25th October. Nor did she feature in the 3-0 win over Australia three days later.

It underlines that she is currently on the fringes of the squad, despite clearly being on Sarina Wiegman's radar. She played very well in the home victory over Brighton, and more performances like that could see her involved more in the run up to the 2027 World Cup.
