Tottenham Hotspur Women take on Aston Villa in their final match at Brisbane Road this season on Sunday 21 April, 2025. Both teams have had poor campaigns after impressing the year before.

One big boost for Spurs is that Bethany England is back in the squad, starting on the bench.. She has recovered from an injury that it was feared might put her out for the rest of the season. Manager Robert Vilahamn said his captain and leading goalscorer had "trained well this week". Luana Bühle and Charlie Grant will though both be absent through injury.

Response to Raso Absence for Tottenham Women

Another absentee is Haley Raso, who will miss the remaining four matches of the WSL season. Vilahamn said that she picked up a minor quad issue in the last training session before the Leicester game.

However, the winger still flew to Australia so her national team could offer a second opinion. There, it was found that she had what Vilahamn described as "a bigger problem with the with the quad." He added "that's the really sad point for her, because now she missed the last games."

Responding of rumour of a falling out with Raso, Vilahamn insisted: "I had a good meeting with her today. We are working good together."

However, the manager also admitted: "The issue this season has been that we haven't really nailed the way we play. And of course, she has ups and downs in how she play, but she's a very good footballer, and it's up to me to make sure she get back stronger and can perform. But mainly it's she started very well, and then as a team, we haven't been really successful. And that's a part of everyone basically."

Daley Danger

A big challenge for Tottenham Women will be suppressing Aston Villa forward Rachel Daley. The former Lioness scored in the 88th minute in the 2-2 draw between the sides earlier in the season. Even in a poor side she poses a threat.

It's been quite a surprise how far Villa have fallen after a positive season previously. They will survive in the WSL only because Crystal Palace are so much weaker than everybody else.

Spurs will want to end their last game at Brisbane Road this season with three points. A repeat of the draw from the reverse fixture will do neither team any good.
